Saturday, 27 March 2010 07:35
with Les Grobstein, Steve Leventhal, and Alison Moran
It truly is March Madness as all hell breaks loose in the first part of the show. You'll have to hear it for yourself. Fortunately the gang recovers from the early trainwreck to have a some good discussons about the Bears, Blackhawks, Bulls, Packers (well actually Lambeau Field) and the Cubs. They even get some discussion in about the Women's NCAA tourney (along with the menof course.) Just you usual Saturday early morning mayhem. Enjoy.
with Les Grobstein, Steve Leventhal, and Alison Moran
Both Les and Steve come back from Milwaukee with discussion of the first round NCAA games played there as well as around the country. Stars are made and stars shine bright, while others play in their last games as collegians. Alison reports on Friday night's Bulls-Cavs games. Plus discussion about the Blackhawks and Bucks. Hear audio from LeBron James, Derrick Rose, and Pitt coach Jamie Dixon.

Les calls in from Arizona where he has been following the Cubs, White Sox, and Brewers in Spring Training. Also hear conversation about the Bulls and Blackhawks. The Bulls are in another tailspin, while the Hawks won in overtime to snap their losing skid. Plus several local teams are vying for spots in March Madness.
GLENDALE, Ariz. – Prior to today's game vs. the Colorado Rockies, the Chicago White Sox made the following eight roster moves:
· Optioned RHP Freddy Dolsi, RHP Lucas Harrell, RHP Jhonny Nunez, RHP Brian Omogrosso and RHP Clevelan Santeliz to Class AAA Charlotte;
· Outrighted RHP Brandon Hynick to Charlotte;
· Optioned RHP Santo Luis to Class AA Birmingham;
· Reassigned C Cole Armstrong to minor-league camp.
With the moves, the White Sox have 44 players remaining in major-league camp: 20 pitchers, four catchers, 11 infielders and nine outfielders. The 40-man roster decreases by one to 39.
(CHICAGO, IL) Patrick Sharp grabbed a loose puck in the neutral zone and skated to his right putting the puck in the lower left corner of the Kings net past Jonathan Quick at 2:08 in the overtime period for the 3-2 victory. It was only fitting as Sharp also netted the game's first score with 2:34 elapsed in the first period. The Hawks had to overcome another shaky second period where they relinquished the lead for about a minute and a half until Kris Versteeg scored his fifteenth goal of the season.

The game also marked the return of Adam Burish from knee surgery. Bursish wasted no time getting back into the action. He had an assist on Sharp's first goal, then had a little skirmish with Rich Clune in front of the Kings bench. " I wanted to get a hit. I wanted to get a fight. I wanted to contribute in some way. To get a point in the first shift, it's a pretty fun way to start," said Burish after the game.
Coach Joel Quenneville noted, "I thought we were pretty good. We checked well. It's a good hokey team. They play a sound game. They 're big and they're strong, you got to fight for space. An excellent game."
Goalie Antti Neimi faced 30 shots, allowing only two goals, while the Hawks had 43 shots against Quick.
