(CHICAGO, IL) Patrick Sharp grabbed a loose puck in the neutral zone and skated to his right putting the puck in the lower left corner of the Kings net past Jonathan Quick at 2:08 in the overtime period for the 3-2 victory. It was only fitting as Sharp also netted the game's first score with 2:34 elapsed in the first period. The Hawks had to overcome another shaky second period where they relinquished the lead for about a minute and a half until Kris Versteeg scored his fifteenth goal of the season.

The game also marked the return of Adam Burish from knee surgery. Bursish wasted no time getting back into the action. He had an assist on Sharp's first goal, then had a little skirmish with Rich Clune in front of the Kings bench. " I wanted to get a hit. I wanted to get a fight. I wanted to contribute in some way. To get a point in the first shift, it's a pretty fun way to start," said Burish after the game.
Coach Joel Quenneville noted, "I thought we were pretty good. We checked well. It's a good hokey team. They play a sound game. They 're big and they're strong, you got to fight for space. An excellent game."
Goalie Antti Neimi faced 30 shots, allowing only two goals, while the Hawks had 43 shots against Quick.
