Derrick Rose thinks the current roster of Bulls players has what it takes. When asked about year's season ending loss to Miami in the East finals. He places the blame squarely on his shoulders. "It was on me," says. "It was the only reason why we lost the games. Little mistakes, turnovers, me not making the extra pass to the open guy. Not having the confidence in my teammates."
Rose, like his mates, is anxious to get back into practice mode. He met with members of the Chicago media at the Bulls suburban training facility. Coaches and team execs were not allowed to watch until the agreement is signed.
Listen to Rose's complete interview.

The Chicago Bears will ride a two-game winning streak into Lincoln Financial Field this Monday where they are set to face unpredictable Philadelphia Eagles. Both teams have had interesting 2011 campaigns that have featured everything from bitter loses early, to genuine optimism over the last few weeks. One of these teams will win a third consecutive game at the others’ expense.
The Bears are coming off their bye week and have outscored the Minnesota Vikings and Tampa Bay Buccaneers a combined 63-28. Historically, the Bears have been very successful when it comes to putting their claws on Eagles quarterback Michael Vick. Vick as a starter has thrown for 187 yards with no touchdowns and three interceptions en route to a 0-3 mark. In five games versus Chicago Vick has been sacked a grand total of fifteen times. “It’s real difficult for us because he creates a lot of time for their (receivers) to get open,” defensive lineman Anthony Adams said. “But we believe in our pass rush and our rush is going to get him and make it easy for us in the back seven. So we’re just got to stay in cover and believe in our pass rush. ”
Vick isn’t the only potent offensive weapon the Eagles posses on their roster. Running back LaSean McCoy has averaged the league high 107.7 yards per game and has scored at least one touchdown in every single outing. On the other hand, Chicago’s defense has limited the Vikings and Bucs to a total 83 rushing yards over the past two weeks. However McCoy has rushed for 152 yards and a touchdown in two games against Chicago in the past.
The Bears also have their own running back, Matt Forte, currently leading the league with 1,091 yards, making up over 40 percent of his team’s offensive yardage output. Needless to say, he’s feeling the pressure. “The running back position in the most physically demanding on the field,” Forte said Tuesday to the Chicago Sun-Times.
In order for the Bears to win, they will have to put their internal issues aside, and focus on taking a team down who is also a roll and has playing to get into playoff contention as well.

Here's a brief look at the matchup between the St. Louis Cardinals, the least likely team have been playing in the Fall Classic when September began, going up against the equally hot Texas Rangers
Offense
The Rangers possess the most attacking offense with five players who hit at least 25 homers, including the white-hot Nelson Cruz, who could be considered a one-man SWAT team against the Tigers in the ALCS. Even though Michael Young didn’t hit 25 homers, he nonetheless has batted .388 and leads the club with 106 RBI’s. Texas can bludgeon opponents, but the Cardinals who often seem to be overlooked with the National Leagues’ best attack. They just toppled two of the game’s better rotations in ousting Philadelphia and Milwaukee. NLCS MVP David Freese was on fire offensively in that series.
Defense
Both clubs have strong defensive players. Shortstops Elvis Andrus and Rafael Furcal have solid defense up the middle, and great speed to limit what gets through the infield. Cardinals catcher Yadier Molina, with his strong arm behind the plate, should limit the Rangers' opportunities to steal bases.
Start Pitching
When looking at the numbers, Chris Carpenter has a much better resume in the post season. He notched a 7-2 record with a 3.11 earn run average. Compare that to Rangers' ace C.J. Wilson, who posted a 1-4 record with a 5.40 ERA. However, that should not take away a good regular season stint where Wilson went 16-7 and a 2.94 ERA. Both pitchers will have to deal with powerhouse lineups that are in the top five in run scoring in the majors.
These are two hot teams that played well in the seasons closing weeks. Both clubs will have to play harder tonight and with all their hearts.

Chicago Blackhawks season preview |

The Chicago Blackhawks surely didn't enjoy this past offseason as much as their previous one. After adding some much-needed toughness and depth to help their offense, they have made some major strides towards a return to the Stanley Cup finals. The Dallas Stars are relying on a rookie coach in hopes he would end their playoff drought. The task is made much harder with their leading scorer out of the picture.
Glen Gulutzan makes his NHL coaching debut as the Stars and Blackhawks kick off their seasons Friday night at American Airlines Center. He coached for two years with the Texas Stars Dallas' top minor league affiliate.
After winning its first Stanley Cup in over forty-nine years, the defending champs crept into the playoffs thanks to a Dallas loss on the final day of the 2010-11 regular season. The Hawks were ultimately eliminated by the Western Conference champions Vancouver in the first round.
Right wing Patrick Kane stated on ESPN.com "I think a lot of us have to prove that what we did two years ago wasn't really a fluke, Last year, we didn't have our best team and we almost did some damage."
Chicago general manager Stan Bowman, who is also signed for a three year contract, brought in some much needed veterans in Andrew Brunette, Jamal Mayers and Steve Montador, along with noted agitator Daniel Carcillo. They will join the core of Jonathan Toews, Kane, Patrick Sharp and Marian Hossa.
"You need to be able to change the momentum, and that's usually with guys who play a certain (physical) style," Bowman told ESPN. "That's why we've added all those players while we've kept all our top guys."
You can say the Blackhawks are excited about their new additions to the team, while the Dallas Stars are counting on new players to make the departure of Brad Richards easier. They have signed right wing Michael Ryder and defenseman Sheldon Souray.
Corey Crawford showed that he can handle the load of being a starting goalie in the National Hockey League, and Patrick Kane and Jonathan Toews continued to produce as two of the best young players in the game. The Hawks finished the season scoring 258 goals, which put them third in the Western Conference.
This should be a tough opening game for Chicago, because despite missing the playoffs, Dallas won 42 games and finished with 95 points in the competitive Pacific Division.
